Hello, I'm Tara Williams, CIC, personal stylist & certified image consultant. I’ve always loved clothes. In fact, as a kid, I remember saving any money I made over the summer to buy clothes. I’m not sure there’s ever been a Christmas I haven’t asked for some article of clothing. Fashion isn’t where I started my journey though. After graduating from college with a degree in Communications, I began a career in the television news industry. As a young, military spouse I moved with my husband wherever the Air Force sent him, finding whatever job I could in my field—producing, anchoring, and reporting. My time in the news industry ended as we began a family and the military continued to move our family, not just in the U.S., but around the world. During those years, a friend introduced me to the concept of image consulting and personal styling. She had just hired a consultant. As she told me about her experience, I was instantly interested. I was about to start my own business when plans were put on hold. Unexpectedly, the military moved us to Japan. That was nearly 15 years ago. Since then, I’ve been busy in my roles as mom, teacher, military spouse, and volunteer. We have lived all over the U.S. and world, adopted a little guy from China, and launched our two oldest girls into lives of their own, but the dream of being an image consultant continued. Early this year, I began taking concrete steps to make my long-time dream a reality. Last summer, I was certified by the Fashion Stylist Institute as an Image Consultant. Now, I am marrying my interest in fashion and life-long passion to help and empower women.
